Check out this cedar chest makeover! After scuff sanding and cleaning, I painted with French Eggshell (to neutralize the orange wood), and immediately wiped it back with a damp cloth to let the wood grain shine through. After that dried, I added a thin coat of Stain and Finishing Oil in Driftwood and immediately wiped that back. I painted some new hardware and poured and painted resin pieces that I glued in place. After all that, I cleaned and hemp oiled the inside. The finished piece is beachy, coastal perfection!! This full-size chest is 40” x 19” x 20.5”.
